Jammu & Kashmir: Head constable Ghulam Mohammad Dar shot dead by terrorists in Baramulla

Srinagar: An official said that terrorists shot dead a Jammu and Kashmir Police Head Constable near his residence in Wailoo Kralpora in Baramulla district, on Tuesday. Head Constable Ghulam Mohammad Dar was shot at by the terrorists outside his residence at Kralpora in Pattan area of the district, the officials added.

Srinagar: An official said that terrorists shot dead a Jammu and Kashmir Police Head Constable in Baramulla district, on Tuesday. Head Constable Ghulam Mohammad Dar was shot at by the terrorists outside his residence at Kralpora in Pattan area of the district, the officials added. This is the third such terrorist attack in as many days in Kashmir Valley.

They said Dar was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to injuries. They further said, “The injured police personnel succumbed to his injuries and attained martyrdom. The area has been cordoned off and search operations are going on.”

The official handle of Jammu and Kashmir Police posted on X,”#Terrorists fired upon one JKP personnel HC Gh Mohd Dar resident of Wailoo Kralpora in #Baramulla at his residence. Shifted to SDH Tangmarg for treatment. Health condition critical.”.

The post read,We pay our rich tributes to the martyr and stand by his family at this critical juncture. This attack marked the third act of terrorism within the Kashmir Valley in the past 72 hours.

The tragic incident happened a day after a laborer from Uttar Pradesh was shot dead by terrorists in Pulwama. A resident of Uttar Pradesh, fell victim to a terrorist attack in Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. The back to back targeted killing highlights the ongoing security challenges faced in the region.

According to a police officials, the incident unfolded in the Rajpora area of Pulwama, with Mukesh Singh being shot around 12:45 pm. Kashmir Zone Police said on X,”Terrorists fired upon one labourer identified as Mukesh of U.P in the Tumchi Nowpora area of Pulwama, who later succumbed to his injuries. Area cordoned off.”

Previously, terrorists had shot at and critically injured a police officer in Eidgah area of Srinagar. Inspector Masroor Ahmad Wani was shot thrice while he was playing cricket with locals at the Eidgah ground. In the wake of a targeted killing by terrorists in Pulwama, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu & Kashmir, Dilbag Singh, expressed his confidence in the police force’s ability to identify and apprehend those responsible for the recent spate of attacks in the region.

DGP Dilbag Singh said,”I am confident that police will identify & nab those involved in yesterday’s incident (in Srinagar, where a police inspector was attacked by terrorists) and today’s killing of a labourer. We will not spare those behind the attack.” The victim, identified as Mukesh from Uttar Pradesh, fell victim to the fatal attack when terrorists opened fire on him in ​​Pulwama. Despite all efforts to save his life, he died. After the incident the area has been cordoned off.
