Jammu and Kashmir: Officials said that a migrant worker from Bihar has been shot dead, another injured by terrorists in a targeted attack in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Raja Shah, a resident of Bihar. In a post on X, Kashmir zone police said, “The injured person, who was shot at by #terrorists, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Search #operation underway in the area. Further details to follow. @JmuKmrPolice.”
According to the police, the victim received two bullet injuries in the neck and two in the stomach. Police said that Shah was rushed to a nearby hospital in a critical condition but he died on the way to the hospital.
Meanwhile, the entire area has been cordoned off and a search operation has been launched to trace the attackers. This is the latest in a series of attacks on non-locals by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir in recent times.
On February 7, militants shot dead a labourer from Amritsar, Punjab Amritpal Singh, in Shalla Kadal area of the Habba Kadal area of the city. On April 8, a non-local cab driver named Dilranjit Singh was shot and injured by militants in Shopian district.
