Anitha Kumaraswamy, a JD (S) MLA and the wife of the former chief minister of Karnataka, HD Kumaraswamy, while addressing a rally, pushed farmers to take out loans as they wanted, promising that her party would forgive them if elected.
Bengaluru: Karnataka assembly elections will be held next year. All parties have been making preparations. The JD (S) is looking very promising and has begun campaigning in a roundabout way. It is the first political party in the state that has formally announced the name of a candidate for the elections, which are expected to take place in April or May of 2023.
Anitha Kumaraswamy, a JD (S) MLA and the wife of the former chief minister of Karnataka, HD Kumaraswamy, while addressing a rally, pushed farmers to take out loans as they wanted, promising that her party would forgive them if elected.
The Ramanagara MLA promised to waive all the loans within 24 hours if their party is elected in the state assembly.
“When he returned to power, Kumaranna [Kumaraswamy] pledged to waive the loans within a day. Take as much as you want. He will then pay off the loans after that. “No issue,” Anitha Kumaraswamy told the farmers.
The remark came as the JD (S) was gearing up for the upcoming assembly elections. The JD(S) leadership has already named Nikhil Kumaraswamy, the son of former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy, as president of the party’s youth wing and a candidate in the Ramanagara constituency in the 2023 elections.
