Jharkhand: A massive fire broke out in an apartment in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad on Tuesday night. At least 14 people, including women and children, died in the incident while many others were injured. Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Singh said that the fire broke out on the second floor of Ashirwad Tower in Jorafatak area of ​​the city. About 40 fire engines were pressed into service to douse the fire.

Jharkhand Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh said that the death toll is 14 and 12 people are undergoing treatment. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. A senior police officer said that the dead included 10 women and three children.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condoled the loss of lives in the devastating fire at an apartment in Dhanbad and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of the deceased. An amount of Rs 50-50 thousand has also been approved for the injured in the incident. 14 people died and 12 others were injured in Dhanbad apartment fire.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) tweeted, “The next of kin of each deceased in the Dhanbad fire will be given an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF. The injured will be given Rs 50,000.” PM Modi also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. The PMO tweeted, “Deeply saddened by the loss of lives in Dhanbad fire. My thoughts are with those who have lost their loved ones. Wishing the injured a speedy recovery.”

Chief Minister Hemant Soren also expressed grief

Chief Minister Hemant Soran has also expressed grief over the accident. Giving information about the accident, he tweeted, in which he wrote that the death of people due to fire in Dhanbad’s Ashirwad Tower apartment is extremely hurtful. The district administration is working on a war footing and treatment is being provided to those injured in the accident. I am looking into the whole matter myself.
