A major accident took place on Monday near Jharkhor gate of Gomo-Dhanbad railway section of Dhanbad district in Jharkhand. 25000 volt electric wire fell on the rail gate between Dhanbad Gomo of Howrah-New Delhi rail route, due to which 5 laborers present there died on the spot due to electrocution. As soon as the information about the incident was received, senior officers of Dhanbad Railway Division reached the spot. It has been told that all the laborers were burying poles near the Nishitpur rail gate. He didn’t take the shutdown. During this the pole staggered and touched the overhead wire of 25 thousand volts. After which more than six laborers died due to electrocution. While many others suffered burn injuries. Rail operations were halted following the incident.

Following the accident, various trains have been held up at different stations. Down Netaji Express going from Kalka to Howrah was stopped at Tetulmari station. Pratap Express going from Howrah to Bikaner has been stopped at Dhanbad station.

Railway officials and Railway doctors have left for the spot by road. Accident relief medical van has opened from Dhanbad. According to sources, more than a dozen people have been seriously burnt.
