Jharkhand: On Tuesday, police said that a major fire that broke out in Hazaribag town of Jharkhand, in which a girl was charred to death and four others suffered grievous burn injuries. After receiving information about this incident, fire tenders rushed on the spot.

Jharkhand: On Tuesday, police said that a major fire that broke out in Hazaribag town of Jharkhand, in which a girl was charred to death and four others suffered grievous burn injuries. After receiving information about this incident, fire tenders rushed on the spot.

According to the report, after hours of struggle, the fire was brought under control. According to the information, the incident happened in a busy market area on Malviya Marg where people had lit ‘diyas’ (earthen lamps) on the occasion of Kartik Purnima on Monday evening.

Giving information about this incident, Hazaribag district Superintendent of Police Manoj Ratan Chouthe said that the fire broke out in a private residence in the market area and quickly spread to adjoining buildings. He added that the blaze was doused after five hours of firefight that continued well past midnight.

He further said that the girl identified as Annu, was killed and four others were seriously injured. He also said the injured persons are undergoing treatment at a private hospital and their condition is stated to be critical. The MLA has expressed grief over the death of the child and said that the treatment of the remaining four people is the first priority.
