Firing on Jharkhand ATS: The ATS team that reached Patratu to arrest the shooters of gangster Aman Sahu was fired upon. ATS DSP and Patratu Daroga have been injured in this. According to the information, two criminals of Aman Sahu gang were riding on the bike. As soon as the ATS team tried to surround them, they started firing furiously.
Ramgarh: Jharkhand ATS team, which reached Patratu to arrest the shooters of jailed gangster Aman Sahu, was fired upon. ATS DSP Neeraj Kumar and Patratu police station’s inspector Sonu Kumar Sahu were injured in this.
The incident took place near Sarna School of Patratu police station area on Monday night at around quarter to nine. Two criminals of Aman Sahu gang were riding on the bike. As soon as the ATS team tried to surround them, they started firing furiously. In this, constable Sonu Kumar Sahu was shot in the thigh of DSP Neeraj’s stomach.
DSP was admitted to Medica Hospital
DSP has been admitted to Medica Hospital Ranchi for immediate treatment, while Sonu Kumar was referred to Ranchi after first aid at Max Care Hospital in Patratu. ATS team has arrested two shooters of Aman Sahu gang with weapons. Although the police is not confirming this. Police have recovered a hollow from the scene of the incident. A total of five rounds of firing are reported.
The team had reached to arrest the criminals of Aman gang
The ATS team had reached Patratu to arrest other criminals including Babi Khan of the Aman gang. After getting the information of the incident, Patratu SDPO, Ranchi ATS team including several police officers have started investigating the matter. During investigation, a police constable Ravi Oraon was seriously injured after being hit by a speeding bike at the spot. A young man sitting behind the bike has also been injured.
Ramgarh SP confirmed the incident
Confirming the incident, Ramgarh SP Piyush Pandey said that the team of Ranchi ATS and Ramgarh police was conducting a joint raid operation on the information about the criminals of Aman Sahu gang being in Patratu. Meanwhile, the criminals attacked the police.
In this firing, a DSP and a sub-inspector were shot. The matter of relief is that both are out of danger. Both have been sent to Ranchi for better treatment. Late night SP Piyush Pandey also reached the spot.
The ATS is campaigning against organized criminal gangs in the state. Monday was the third day of the campaign. Five ATS teams are engaged in the campaign by marking ten places in the state. DSP Neeraj Kumar was leading the team that reached Patratu.
This is the same DSP Neeraj Kumar, who has received Home Minister’s medal for better research. Neeraj Kumar had disclosed the gang rape case of law college student in Kanke while being DSP of Ranchi Headquarters.
