Jharkhand Crime: Software engineer girl beaten up, gang-raped by 10 men in Chaibasa, All booked

Chaibasa: A case of gang-rape with a software engineer girl has come to light in Jharkhand. A tribal girl was gang-raped by about 10 people in Chaibasa area here. According to the information received, this incident took place near Tekrahatu of Chaibasa Mufassil police station area. The victim is a software engineer and is doing work from home living in Chaibasa. The incident is being told about 6 pm on Thursday and the police was informed about the incident late on Thursday night. 10 unknown accused are currently absconding and on the basis of suspicion, the police have questioned some people.

Police said that the incident took place near the airstrip for Tekra. The software engineer girl of Chaibasa had gone to visit the airstrip with her friend, when 8-10 people present in the deserted area threatened her friend and ran away and 10 people raped the girl by taking her to a remote area.

When the police got the information, Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer Dilip Khalko and Mufassil police station in-charge Pawan Pathak reached the spot along with the team force and started the search for the accused. At present, some people have been questioned on the basis of suspicion and the police have picked up some youths from nearby villages and taken them to the police station.

The victim girl has been kept under police supervision at Sadar Hospital and is not being allowed to meet anyone. District Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar has said that some youths have been detained on the basis of suspicion, they are being interrogated. A case has been registered against 10 unidentified people so far.

Police said they picked up some youths from a nearby village on the basis of suspicion, adding that they were being interrogated at the police station.

Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar said a case had been registered against 10 unknown people and the survivor’s statement under Section 164 of the CrPC had been penned in court.
