Jharkhand: Stone pelting broke out between 2 groups in Jamshedpur; Section-144 applied

Jharkhand: During the violence in Jamshedpur's Shastrinagar, two shops and an auto-rickshaw were set ablaze by the mob. The entire area has been converted into a police cantonment.

Jamshedpur: In Jamshedpur city of Jharkhand (Jharkhand) on Sunday (April 9) once again two groups came face to face. During this, stone pelting and arson also took place. Religious slogans have also been raised from both the groups. As soon as the information was received, a large number of police forces reached the spot. By late night the entire area was converted into a police camp.

Stone-pelting between two groups started after the alleged desecration of a religious flag in Jamshedpur’s Shastri Nagar. After which the furious mob also started arson. Prohibitory orders were imposed in the area on Sunday evening after the violence broke out. The officials gave this information. Sub-Divisional Officer (Dhalbhum) Piyush Sinha said prohibitory orders have been imposed under section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Six people injured in stone pelting

Six people were injured in stone pelting while the violent mob torched two shops and an auto-rickshaw, he said. Police fired tear gas shells to disperse the crowd. Officials said that adequate police force has been deployed in Shastri Nagar under Kadma police station area to maintain law and order.

There was violence on Ram Navami as well

Earlier on Ram Navami, there was a clash between two groups in Haldipokhar area of ​​Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. Stones were pelted during the Ram Navami immersion procession here after a group opposed the procession. The second group then organized the recitation of ‘Hanuman Chalisa’. About five people were injured in the arson that took place during this period. Incidents of violence were reported from Howrah in West Bengal and Sasaram and Nalanda in Bihar during Ram Navami celebrations.
