Khunti (Jharkhand): Yet another heart wrenching incident, A 20-year-old tribal man beheaded his 24-year-old relative over a land dispute in Jharkhand’s Khunti district and the accused’s friends took a ‘selfie’ with the severed head. Police told on Monday that this incident happened recently in Murhu area.
Six people, including the main accused and his wife, were arrested on Sunday on the basis of an FIR lodged by the deceased’s father Dasai Munda on December 2.
In the FIR, 55-year-old Munda has said that his son Kanu Munda was alone at home on December 1 when the rest of the family had gone to work in the fields. On returning home, the villagers told that their nephew Sagar Munda and his friends had kidnapped their son.
Chudamani Tudu, in-charge of Murhu police station, said that a police team was formed under the leadership of Khunti Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Amit Kumar to nab the accused. After arresting the accused, Kanu’s torso was recovered in Kumang Gopla forest and head was recovered in Dulwa Tungri area, 15 km away.
