The government has issued a directive to all administrative secretaries, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, and heads of departments, instructing them to ensure the implementation of the given guidelines on Independence Day.
Srinagar: The administration under Lt Governor in Jammu and Kashmir has issued a directive to government officials, urging them to post selfies with the Tricolour, soil, and earthen lamp as their display pictures on social media platforms on Independence Day. This initiative is part of the ‘Meri Mitti, Mera Desh’ campaign for this year’s Independence Day celebrations.
The instructions have been given to administrative secretaries, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, and heads of departments to ensure compliance with these guidelines on Independence Day. This is the first time such instructions have been issued to government officials in J&K.
The main Independence Day event will take place at J&K Cricket Stadium in Sonawar, Srinagar, where Lt Governor Manoj Sinha is expected to unfurl the Tricolour.
The administration has also encouraged both government officers and the general public to hoist the flag on top of their houses. It has been emphasized that while hoisting the flag, it should be done in a respectful and appropriate manner, adhering to the flag code.
Furthermore, the government has decided to decorate all government buildings, offices, schools, colleges, universities, urban local bodies, panchayats, blocks, and tehsils with lights and hoist the national flag on these premises. Additionally, it is mandatory for all officers above the rank of undersecretaries to attend the Independence Day functions in the twin capitals of Srinagar and Jammu.
