J&K: Home Minister Amit Shah offers prayers at Vaishno Devi Shrine in Katra ahead of first mega rally in Rajouri

Amit Shah News: Today is the second day of Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to Jammu and Kashmir. Started his day with worship at Vaishno Devi temple. His video has also surfaced.

Jammu: Union Home Minister Amit Shah offered prayers at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple in Katra on Tuesday morning. Home Minister reached Katra temple via Sanjichhat helipad. He was accompanied by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Union Minister Jitendra Singh. This is Amit Shah’s first visit to the holy cave temple after being appointed as the Union Home Minister.

After offering prayers at the Vaishno Devi temple, Shah is scheduled to address a public meeting in Rajouri. The public meeting is to be held at a distance of one and a half hours from the temple. Along with this, Amit Shah will also launch several development projects and will also lay the foundation stone of various projects at the Convention Center in Jammu.

After this, Amit Shah will hold a public meeting in Rajouri and offer prayers at the Raghunath temple in Jammu. Shah will also inspect various development projects here before visiting the Kashmir Valley. At the same time, in the evening, the Home Minister will hold several important meetings regarding the security situation in the area.

On Wednesday (October 5), Amit Shah will review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir in a meeting to be held at the Raj Bhavan in Srinagar. LG Manoj Sinha, top officials of the army, paramilitary forces, state police and civil administration will participate in the high-level meeting beginning tomorrow at 10 am. After this, Amit Shah will address a public meeting in Baramulla at around 11.30 am. Significantly, this is Amit Shah’s second visit to Jammu and Kashmir after the Modi government abrogated Article 370 in August 2019.

The Minister will later address a public meeting here at Baramulla around 11.30 am and will address the gathering.

Before concluding his visit to the Union Territory, Mr Shah will also launch and lay foundation stones for various development projects in Srinagar around 3.30 pm.

Various programmes have been scheduled to take place during his visit to the valley including the ones which will be held by communities like Bakarwal and Gujjars to honour Mr Shah on behalf of the Modi government for working for the welfare of these communities.

In a surprising move, the Modi government recently nominated Ghulam Ali to the Rajya Sabha. Ali joined BJP in 2008 and hails from the Gujjar tribe.

Several organisational meetings are on the cards too including the state core group meeting and meeting with party MPs and MLAs.
