J&K: Intruder killed by security forces during a foiled infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in Kupwara

An infiltration bid has been foiled along the Line of Control in Kupwara district. It is being told that an unknown intruder was killed by security forces in Karnah of Tangdhar sector of the district.

Srinagar: An infiltration bid has been foiled along the Line of Control in Kupwara district of North Kashmir. It is being told that the security forces have killed an unknown intruder in Karnah of Tangdhar sector of the district. A search operation is being conducted in the area by the security forces.

A terrorist helper arrested along with arms and ammunition in Sopore

Earlier on Thursday, security forces arrested a helper of terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba in Sopore of Kashmir Valley. During this, arms and ammunition have been recovered from his possession. The helper has been identified as Umar Bashir Bhat, a resident of Manj Seer, Sopore.

According to police sources, acting on the information received regarding the helper, a joint search operation was conducted by the police with the personnel of 52 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and 177 Battalion of CRPF near the railway station Peth Seer. During this a suspect was caught. A hand grenade, a pistol, a pistol magazine, 15 pistol rounds and a mobile phone with SIM card have been recovered from his possession. A case has been registered against him in Police Station Tarju and investigation has been started.
