Jammu and Kashmir: Security forces have foiled a major conspiracy of terrorists in Kashmir. Security forces have arrested an associate of terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and its associated organization ‘The Resistance Front’ (TRF) from Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. A large quantity of hand grenades and explosive material has been recovered from him. Police said that the arrested associate of terrorists was planning to carry out a terrorist attack in Baramulla city.
Kashmir Police Zone spokesperson said that a pistol, a magazine and three hand grenades have been recovered from him. The accused person was identified as Shakir Ahmed Lone of Dangerpora Sheeri. A police spokesperson said, “In Baramulla, police along with security forces have arrested an associate of terrorists associated with the banned terrorist organization Lashkar-TRF and recovered incriminating material, arms and ammunition from his possession.”
During the patrol, a suspicious person was observed approaching the team on foot. When the suspect saw the police and security forces, he attempted to flee but was swiftly apprehended by the alert patrol team.

Initial questioning identified the suspect as Shakir Ahmad Lone. One pistol, one magazine, eight pistol rounds and three hand grenades were recovered from him. The accused also revealed that he was in touch with a Pakistan-based terror handler and was planning to carry out a terrorist attack in Baramulla town. A case under sections UA (P) and the Arms Act has been registered at PS Baramulla, and an investigation is underway
