Junior Shooting World Cup 2023: Sanyam wins gold medal in women 10m Air Pistol event

New Delhi: In the Junior Shooting World Cup (Junior Shooting World Cup 2023), the restraint of Chandigarh gave India a golden start by winning the gold medal. In the women's 10m Air Pistol event, Sanyam secured the first position. Sanyam scored 238 in the final. Kim Minseo of South Korea finished second. Liu Heng Yu of Chinese Taipei got the bronze medal.

Junior Shooting World Cup 2023: Sanyam wins gold medal in women 10m Air Pistol event

New Delhi: In the Junior Shooting World Cup (Junior Shooting World Cup 2023), the restraint of Chandigarh gave India a golden start by winning the gold medal. In the women’s 10m Air Pistol event, Sanyam secured the first position. Sanyam scored 238 in the final. Kim Minseo of South Korea finished second. Liu Heng Yu of Chinese Taipei got the bronze medal.

According to the information, the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) has organized the Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany. India got off to a great start on Saturday. Sanyam won India its first gold medal. The Korean player had to be satisfied with the silver medal.

In other events, India’s Suruchi Inder Singh also reached the women’s pistol final. She finished sixth with a score of 154.1. In the junior men’s 10m air pistol, Amit Sharma was the only Indian finalist in the event and finished fourth to miss out on a medal. Italian Luca Arrighi won the gold medal in the event.

Whereas, Urva Chowdhary finished 26th in the women’s air pistol event with a qualification round score of 560. Sanyam shot 571 to finish third, while Suruchi finished fifth with 571 in qualifying.

In the men’s pistol events, Abhinav Chowdhary edged closer to the top eight with a qualification round score of 570 to finish ninth. The third Indian contender Shubham Bisla shot 568 to finish tied-13th.

The junior men’s and women’s skeet qualification rounds also began today. Ritu Raj Bundela, Abhay Singh Sekhon and Munek Batula are competing in the men’s skeet, while Raiza Dhillon, Mufaddal Zara Deesawala and Sanjan Sood are carrying Indian hopes in the women’s skeet. Sunday, the second day of competition, has four finalists on the roster including both Mixed Team Rifle and Pistol.
