The BJP, in power, unveiled its second list of 39 candidates for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly elections on Monday. This latest announcement came shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address to a large gathering of BJP supporters in Bhopal.
Madhya Pradesh BJP’s National General Secretary, Kailash Vijayvargiya, expressed his surprise when the party nominated him as the candidate for the Indore-1 constituency in the upcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly elections.
The BJP has unveiled its second list of candidates for the imminent assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, featuring several prominent figures.
Following his selection for the Indore-1 constituency, Kailash Vijayvargiya remarked, “Although I had previously stated my reluctance to contest in the elections, I received instructions from party leaders just two days ago. I found myself in a dilemma, and when the announcement of the second list of BJP candidates for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls was made, I was genuinely astonished. I consider it an honor to have the opportunity to participate in electoral politics, and I will do my best to meet the party’s expectations.”
“This is an order from the party. I was informed that I would be given a responsibility and that I could not decline it. When the candidate list was revealed, I, too, was taken aback. I am a dedicated soldier of the party, and I will carry out whatever tasks they assign to me. BJP appears to be headed for a two-thirds majority. Only time will reveal how many more seats we will secure beyond that,” added Vijayvargiya.
Meanwhile, BJP supporters celebrated outside the residence of party leader Kailash Vijayvargiya in Indore upon learning of his candidacy for the Indore-1 constituency.
In a separate development, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh commented, Public anger in Datia is running high. The state Home Minister (Narottam Mishra) has faced criticism from every section of society. The situation does not appear to favor the BJP.
