Kanjhawala death case: Two new suspects emerged in Delhi hit and drag case, say police

Delhi Police said that strict action will be taken under the legal process. The SIT is engaged day and night in collecting evidence and solving the case. He said that the accused also tried to mislead the police.

New Delhi: The police have made many important revelations in the case of Anjali, who was a victim of a road accident in the national capital Delhi. Delhi Police’s Special CP Sagarpreet Hooda told a press conference that not 5 but 7 people were involved in this crime. Like the five main accused, there are two more people who were involved in this. They will also be arrested soon.

The men are Ashutosh, the owner of the car, and Ankush, the brother of one of the accused, the police said today, asserting that they would be arrested soon.

Police said that there is a lot of evidence in the initial post-mortem report, but the final report is still awaited. However, he denied getting any evidence of rape.

The police said that new aspects are coming to the fore, the police is investigating on many points, soon there will be more revelations. He told that there is no old relation between the accused and the victim. Anjali’s friend Nidhi is an important witness in this case.

He told that it is being tried. Will file a strong charge sheet with all the evidence soon and get the accused punished.

He said that the final post mortem report is yet to come. We are investigating to know the reason why Anjali’s friend Nidhi did not tell the police in the beginning.

Victim Anjali Singh was riding her scooter and Nidhi was the pillion rider when the car hit her, a little after 2 am. Anjali’s leg was caught in one of the wheels and she was dragged away by the car. She screamed but the car didn’t stop, even when the occupants saw her arm under the wheels. The men drove for more than an hour before the body fell off.

Around two hours after the incident, the men brought the car back to its owner, Ashutosh, and fled in an autorickshaw, security footage has revealed.

CCTV footage from Rohini shows the men stopping the car at a point and leaving in a waiting autorickshaw at 4.33 am.

Shocking post-mortem report reveals that victim Anjali died of horrific injuries. She suffered at least 40 external injuries; her ribs were exposed from her back, the base of her skull was fractured and some “brain matter was missing”. She had injuries to the head, spine and lower limbs.
