A teacher of a private school allegedly punished a class V student for not reciting mathematical tables in such a way that even your heart will shiver. The teacher reportedly took the drill machine and used it on the student’s hand. The student is said to have sustained a minor injury & was given primary treatment.
Kanpur/ Uttar Pradesh: A shocking incident came to fore from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. A teacher of a private school here allegedly punished a fifth grade student for not reciting mathematical table. A government school teacher in Kanpur’s Prem Nagar area allegedly used a power drill to punish a nine-year-old student, injuring the boy.
The report states that the accused instructor was supervising some repair work in the library when he found a student passing by and asked him to recite Table of 2. When the boy failed to do so, the instructor picked up an electric hand drill and injured the minor boy.
The incident took place on Thursday and came to light on Friday when the student’s parents staged a sit-in outside the school.
Basic Shiksha Adhikari (Education Officer) reached the spot and removed the instructor, identified as Anuj Pandey.
He constituted a three-member committee to investigate the incident. The Parents also alleged that the teachers did not inform their superiors about the incident nor did they provide proper treatment and no tetanus injection was given.

The student told local reporters that the teacher asked him to recite the table of two, and when he could not recite it, he operated a drill machine in his left hand. A fellow student standing nearby, removed the plug of the drill machine but by then, the students had been injured.
