Kanwar Yatra taken out in Tokyo, Japan, Ganges water reached from Bihar

Kanwar Yatra 2023 On the auspicious occasion of Sawan, the holy month of Shiva, many devotees of the country have set out on Kanwar Yatra from different places. Now this festival of Kanwar is being seen in foreign countries also. The people of Bihar-Jharkhand living in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, have set out on the Kanwar Yatra. About 250 families from Bihar and Jharkhand live in Tokyo, Japan.

On the auspicious occasion of Sawan, the holy month of Lord Shiva, many devotees of the country have set out on the Kanwar Yatra from different places. Now this festival of Kanwar is being seen in foreign countries also. The people of Bihar-Jharkhand living in Japan’s capital Tokyo have set out on the Kanwar Yatra. From Tokyo to Saitama, the gaiety of the kanwariyas was overshadowed. Lord Bholenath was anointed in the Shiva temple of Saitama with the Ganga water brought from Bihar.

On the initiative of Bihar-Jharkhand Association of Japan and Bihar Foundation, a large number of Kawandis came out with the Kawand Yatra announcing Bam Bhole. India’s Ambassador to Japan CB George saw off the Kawandis as the chief guest.

Let us tell you that last year also Bihar Association of Japan had organized Kanwar Yatra in Japan. This time around 500 devotees took part in the Kanwar Yatra. Not only India, but people from neighboring countries Nepal, Srilanka, Myanmar, Bangladesh, etc also took part in this Kanwar Yatra. This time a pilgrimage of 82 kilometers has been taken out.

Bihar Jharkhand Association of Japan organized

Anand Vijay Singh, head of the Bihar-Jharkhand Association and Bihar Foundation in Japan, told that Gangajal has been brought from Sultanganj in Bihar for the Kanwar Yatra. The Kanwar Yatra started from Shri Radha Krishna Temple in Funabori, Tokyo. The pilgrims reached the Shiva temple in Saitama carrying a pot of holy Ganges water on their shoulders and reached the Shiva temple in Saitama. There Lord Mahadev’s Jalabhishek was done with Ganges water. On the way, the Indians welcomed these Kanwar Yatris at various places. The kanwariyas were also singing songs of devotion drowning in the praise of Shiva.

This Kanwar Yatra is being seen as a way to strengthen relations between India and Japan and to promote Indian culture abroad.
