New Delhi: On Tuesday, The hole Nation will remember its war heroes and pay tributes to the Martyrs on Kargil Vijay Diwas. The day marks the victory of the Indian armed forces in Operation Vijay in 1999, when they evicted the infiltrators backed by the Pakistani army from high outposts in the Kargil sector. India commemorated 23 years of its victory over Pakistan with a wreath laying ceremony at the Kargil War Memorial in Dras and politicians cutting across party lines paying tributes to the soldiers.
On Tuesday, Kargil Vijay Diwas, newly elected President Droupadi Murmu paid her tribute to soldiers. Taking to Twitter, she worte, “Kargil Vijay Diwas is a symbol of the extraordinary valour, might and determination of our armed forces. I bow to all the brave soldiers who laid down their lives to protect Mother India. All the countrymen will always be indebted to him and his family members. Jai Hind!.”

On this day, PM Modi wrote, “Kargil Vijay Diwas is a symbol of pride and glory of Maa Bharati. On this occasion, my salute to all the brave sons of the country who have accomplished their valor in the defense of the motherland. Jai Hind!. ”

On Kargil Vijay Diwas, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh saluted the bravery, courage and sacrifice of the armed forces. Taking to Twitter, Singh tweeted: “On Kargil Vijay Diwas, India salutes the bravery, courage and sacrifice of our armed forces. They fought valiantly in extremely harsh conditions to defend our motherland. Their act of valour & indomitable spirit will remain etched forever as a defining moment in India’s history.”
The three service chiefs – Army chief General Manoj Pande, Navy chief Admiral R Hari Kumar & Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari – lay wreaths at the National War Memorial in Delhi, on Argil Vijay Diwas.
On July 26, every year hole national is celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas. The Kargil War was fought between May 8, 1999, to July 26, 1999, against Pakistan intruders, who in the winters of 1998 transgressed into the Indian territory across the Line of Control and occupied fortified defences overlooking the NH 1A in Kargil’s Drass and Batalik Sectors of Ladakh region with a nefarious aim of dominating all military and civil movement on the highway.
