Bengaluru: There is news of a horrific road accident in Karnataka. According to the information received, 10 people died in a collision between a car and a bus at Tanarsinghpura near Mysuru on Monday. Two children are also included in the dead. One of the occupants of the Innova car is seriously injured. He has been admitted to the nearest hospital. The dead bodies are being sent for postmortem.
Earlier on Sunday, there was a fierce collision between a car and a lorry in Koppal district of Karnataka. Six people including two children and a woman died in this accident. Giving information in the matter, the police said that the accident happened on the national highway near Kalkeri village. All the deceased were residents of Vijayapura and were going to Bangalore by car, while the lorry had left from Tamil Nadu towards Gujarat.
Expressing grief over the accident, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased.
According to information, the entire car rammed into the front of the lorry in the head-on collision. The car was pulled out with the help of a crane and the bodies of all the deceased were sent to the hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered in connection with the accident.
