New Delhi: At least 7 people were dead and 12 injured after a Hyderabad-bound bus caught fire in the early hours of Friday in Kalaburagi district of Karnataka. The injured have been shifted to various hospitals in Kalaburagi and are undergoing treatment.
The incident took place around 6.30 a.m. in the outskirts of Kamalapur taluk in Kalaburagi district on the Bidar-Srirangapatna highway. The bus was travelling from Goa to Hyderabad. More than 29 passengers were travelling in the bus at the time of the accident.
Fire and police department personnel are currently on the spot and recovering the bodies of the deceased.
According to Police, the bus had caught fire after colliding with a lorry. The bus then collided with the bridge and also veered off the road due to the impact of the accident.
