Mangaluru (Karnataka): Two people were injured in a blast in an autorickshaw in Mangaluru in coastal Karnataka on Saturday. Police has appealed to the people for peace. It is not yet clear what caused the explosion. Police is investigating this incident. Mangaluru police chief N Sasikumar said the driver and a passenger were injured in the incident. He asked the people not to panic.
It is seen in the video of the incident that the auto rickshaw stopped on the road near a building where construction work was going on and it exploded. A passenger was allegedly carrying a plastic bag, which caught fire and spread to the vehicle. The incident took place around five in the evening. The passenger had a bag. The auto driver said that the fire started in the passenger’s bag. Both have suffered injuries and are undergoing treatment. FSL and the special team are also collecting evidence from the spot. They are checking the contents of the bag.
