Mangaluru: In yet another horrific incident, four members of a family were stabbed to death by a masked assailant at Kemmannu in Udupi district on Sunday morning, police said. According to Police, an unidentified man forcibly barged the house and brutally attacked Hasina (46) and her three children aged 23, 21 and 12. Another woman was seriously injured in the attack and admitted to a hospital.
In this incident, another woman of the family has been seriously injured and immediately rushed to the hospital. According to information received from sources, the victim’s husband works in a Gulf country. In his absence, four members of the family were killed. The reason behind the incident is not yet known.
Sources said the victim’s husband is working in the Gulf. Udupi District Superintendent of Police Arun Kumar visited the scene of the crime.
After the massacre, Udupi district SP Arun Kumar also reached the spot. He said that the motive behind the murder remains shrouded in mystery. Our team is investigating the matter. Whoever is guilty will be given the harshest punishment. No one guilty will be spared.
According to the police, four bodies have been recovered from the house in Trupti Nagar. The dead have been identified. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. We are investigating the matter from every angle. Whether there was any old enmity is also being ascertained.
