Bengaluru: A shocking case has come to light from Ramanagara district of Karnataka. Here a jilted lover threw acid on a 17-year-old minor to take revenge. As soon as the information about the case was received, the police reached the spot and registered a case against the accused. Officials gave this information on Saturday and told that the search for the accused is on. It is being told that the accused is absconding after the attack. According to the police, the victim has been admitted to the hospital, during examination the doctors said that the victim may have lost her eyes in the incident.
The victim has suffered severe injuries to her left eye and has been admitted to the hospital. In this matter, a special team has been formed to arrest the accused, who is on the run after the incident.
The accused has been identified as 22-year-old mechanic Sumant, a resident of Kurupete in Kanakapura. The incident took place near Narayanappa Lake Bypass Road in Kanakapura on Friday. Initial investigation of the case has revealed that the accused had called the victim on the spot over phone.
When the victim came there on his call, the accused persuaded her to have sex with him, but the victim refused to do so. Thereafter, the accused threw engine cleaning acid on his face. Due to this attack, the left side of the face including the eye of the victim was completely damaged.
Dr. Sujata, director of Minto Hospital, has said that acid has gone into the left side of the victim’s face and left eye. Also, the doctor told that the acid has penetrated into the three layers of the victim’s eye and it is a bit difficult to maintain eyesight in such cases.
Police said that the accused and the victim were in a relationship for the last one year. Meanwhile, both of them had a fight and ended all their relations with the girl. After this the boy tried a lot to persuade her, but she did not agree. The accused chose such a cruel way to take revenge in love.
The accused went missing soon after the incident and police have formed a special team to nab him. The Kanakapura Town Police has also registered a case under sections of the POCSO Act and IPC.
