Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, embroiled in a sex scandal, has issued a public apology and announced his intention to cooperate with the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the allegations against him. In a video message from an undisclosed location, Revanna expressed regret for the distress caused to his parents and supporters, stating he was unaware of the charges when he traveled to Germany. He attributed his delayed response to the depression he experienced upon learning about the accusations.
In his video statement, Revanna asserted that the charges are part of a political conspiracy orchestrated by his adversaries. He declared his resolve to fight the allegations legally and prove his innocence. Revanna emphasized his willingness to return to India and appear before the SIT on May 31.
Background and Legal Actions
Revanna is facing multiple charges of sexual abuse. He reportedly fled to Germany on April 27, shortly after casting his vote in Hassan, and has since been evading authorities.
Interpol Notice and Arrest Warrant
The SIT, through the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), requested Interpol to issue a Blue Corner Notice to locate Revanna. Following this, a special court for elected representatives issued an arrest warrant against him on May 18, further intensifying efforts to bring him to justice.
