Yadgir: A doctor refused to perform a C-section surgery in Karnataka’s Yadgir district after not receiving a bribe of Rs 10,000. Due to which the child died in the womb of the mother. The district administration has suspended gynecologist Dr. Pallavi Pujari on Friday.
According to officials, local female resident Sangeeta came to the district hospital on Thursday for delivery. Dr. Pallavi allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 to get her Caesarean surgery done. After which Sujatha’s family went to arrange money from relatives and friends.
He did the operation only after giving the money. However, due to delay in delivery, the child died in the womb. The family alleges that the negligence of the gynecologist is responsible for the child’s death. They protested in the hospital premises. After receiving the report, District Commissioner R Snehal suspended the doctor.
