Karnataka: Woman’s decomposed body found in a plastic drum at Bengaluru railway station; Investigation on

The body of a woman was found inside a drum near the main gate of Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) railway station in Bengaluru, police said. The age of the deceased woman is around 31-35 years.

Bengaluru: In yet another tragic incident, The body of an unidentified woman was found inside a plastic drum at Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) at Baiyappanahalli in Karnataka’s Bendaluru district on Tuesday. The age of the deceased woman is around 31-35 years. Police said the body was brought there by three people in an auto rickshaw.

The CCTV footage of the three men who carried the drum and dropped it at the railway station is being examined by the police. Railway SP Soumyalatha visited the spot. Police have started investigation to trace the people carrying the drum after examining the CCTV footage.

Murder case registered
Railway SP Soumyalatha said that the age of the deceased woman was between 32-35 years. His identity is yet to be ascertained. A case of murder has been registered. At the same time, the police is investigating the matter but refused to say that all the three incidents are related.

In December last year also the dead body of the woman was found in the sack
Let us tell you that in the second week of December last year, the body of an unknown woman was found in a yellow colored sack in a compartment of a passenger train at SMVT station. The matter came to light when a passenger complained about foul smell emanating from the sack. This sack was thrown along with other items. Later, the police found the decomposed remains of the dead body from the sack.

Girl’s body recovered in January from the drum
Similarly, on January 4, the Railway Police recovered the decomposed body of a girl from a blue colored plastic drum from platform number one of Yesvantpur railway station. Police said the body was brought from Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh and dumped at the railway station. However, it is not yet clear whether the three incidents are linked or not.
