Kaun Banega Crorepati 15: 12-year-old, class 8 student Mayank becomes youngest contestant to win Rs 1 cr

Mumbai: Contestant Mayank, Class 8 student, a 12-year-old from Mahendragarh, Haryana, created history by becoming the youngest child to win one crore points on ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 15.’ The makers shared a promo on X that featured Mayank receiving the prize from the show’s host, Amitabh Bachchan. The episode was part of the special KBC Juniors Week.

Mayank surprised everyone by not using a single lifeline and winning Rs 3.2 lakh. He used his first lifeline for the Rs 12.5 lakh question. His achievement demonstrates the values of confidence, preparation, and perseverance, as he answered every question with ease, finally leading him to win one crore points.

Mayank’s father Pradeep Kumar is a constable in Delhi Police, while his mother Babita is a housewife. Mayank, studying in RPS school, is only 12 years old. Not only this, he also seamlessly impressed Big B, who was captivated by Mayank’s intelligence and wit.

On this achievement of Mayank, RPS Group Chairperson Dr Pavitra Rao, CEO Engineer Manish Rao, Principal Dr Kishore Tiwari, and the entire school management have congratulated him and wished him a bright future. He was welcomed upon reaching the school. A baffled Big B turned to his parents and questioned them on Mayank’s exceptional knowledge of various topics, and his parents humorously agreed to his unusual penchant for knowledge.

They were very proud of him and acknowledged his varied interests when it came to education and how they planned to fulfill his curiosity. A program was also recently organised for Mayank and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar also spoke to Mayank’s family on the phone and congratulated them.

After the achievement Mayank said, “I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to display my knowledge on ‘KBC Juniors Week’ and play the game opposite Amitabh Sir, who motivated me throughout. To be the youngest contestant to win such a huge amount is a moment of pride for me and my family. We are big fans of the show and Bachchan Sir! I would also take this opportunity to thank my parents for their consistent guidance that helped me to play well and achieve the 1 crore feat.”
