In the Kedarnath region, the weather pattern has deteriorated since March 15, due to which the pedestrian path has become very sensitive at many places. At many places on the route, icebergs have come on the way, due to which the movement has stopped due to accumulation of tons of snow there.

Uttarakhand:The Kedarnath pedestrian route has been blocked near Bhairav Ghati due to the breaking of the iceberg amid snowfall in Kedarnath Dham for the last seven days. Due to this, the movement of horse-mule operators and laborers engaged in the reconstruction work of Kedarnath Dham has stopped.

The journey to Kedarnath Dham is to begin from 25 April. The pedestrian route is being cleared for the Kedarnath Yatra. But the teams clearing the snow from the route are facing very difficult conditions.

The pedestrian route will be made smooth as soon as possible.
A large part of the footpath has collapsed due to the breaking of the glacier. The workers working there are also surprised to see the devastation of the road from the glacier.
Now only big balls of snow and dangerous slopes of snow are visible on that road. Seeing this condition of Kedarnath road, it is being estimated that many more days of hard work will have to be done to make it.Light rains occurred in Dehradun, Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi, Tehri and Pauri in Garhwal division, but clouds remained in most of the districts. Snowfall continued for the fourth consecutive day in Kedarnath. In Bageshwar district, it rained in Kausani, Garud etc. areas.

On the other hand, crops have been damaged due to hailstorm in Khati, Bachham, Karmi etc. areas of Kapkot. It is snowing intermittently in Pindari region. There is continuous snowfall on the Himalayan peaks in Pithoragarh district. Whereas in Munsiyari and Dharchula, the minimum temperature has reached two to three degrees due to rain.Due to lightning in Champawat district, there was a fault in the electric line. Due to this there was power failure for 10 hours in Tanakpur and Banbasa areas. In Haldwani and Terai, the wheat crop has been lying down due to torrential rains and wind. There is a possibility of damage to about 20 percent of the crop.

On Friday, the employees of Sulabh International cleaned the Mandakini river in Sonprayag and Gaurikund and removed the plastic waste lying there. Also inspired the local people to clean the river. Organization’s in-charge Dhananjay Pathak told that for the upcoming journey, construction work of toilets is going on on the highway including the pedestrian route. Most of the construction work will be completed by next 10 to 15 April.
