New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday asked Delhi’s Lt Governor VK Saxena to leave politics and concentrate on the law and order situation in the national capital. His statement comes after DCW chief Swati Maliwal was intentionally dragged by a car.
Where is Delhi’s law and order situation? “The morale of the anti-social elements is so high that they can’t spare the women’s commission chairperson,” Kejriwal wrote on Twitter.
“Only this work has been given to LG Sahib by the Constitution. We request for LG Sahib to leave politics for a brief period and concentrate on law and order. “We are ready to give him full support,” Kejriwal added.
DCW Chief Swati Maliwal was allegedly molested and dragged for 10-15 metres by a drunk cab driver after her hand got stuck in his car’s window around 3 am on Thursday.
The accused driver was arrested and sent to 14-day judicial custody for molesting and dragging the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief.
The police got information around 3 am regarding the molestation by a cab driver at the back side of the AIIMS. PCR reached the spot and arrested the accused cab driver; the medical report revealed that he was inebriated. Swati Maliwal is fine,” said DCP South, Chandan Chaudhary.
A case was lodged against the accused under various IPC sections.
