Kerala: 6-year-old girl whose kidnapping triggered a massive search rescued

Kerala: A six-year-old girl from Kerala, who went missing on Monday evening, has been found abandoned at Ashramam grounds in Kollam. This incident happened in Puyappally at around 4:30 pm. Later the kidnappers called the girl's mother and demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh. Police have started a statewide search for the child.

Kerala: A six-year-old girl from Kerala, who went missing on Monday evening, has been found abandoned at Ashramam in Kollam. This incident happened at around 4:30 pm. Later the kidnappers called the girl’s mother and demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh. Police have started a statewide search for the child.

The girl was found by Kerala Police after 20 hours of search. The incident took place while the girl, Abigail Sara Reji, was going for tuition with her 8-year-old brother, who said she was kidnapped by four people in the car including a woman.

Hours after the incident, the chief minister directed the state police chief to ensure a flawless and speedy investigation into the incident. According to her brother, a group of four people in a white Sedan approached the siblings with a notice and asked them to give it to their mother. When they refused, the girl was forced into the car.

The kidnappers tried to forcefully push the boy inside the car too but he managed to escape. Television news channels on Monday reported that a ransom call was received by the girls’ parents from the kidnappers demanding Rs 10 lakh for the safe return of the girl.

Soon after the call, Kerala Police intensified the search for the girl, with vehicles being checked on all major and minor roads in the southern districts of Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Thiruvananthapuram. According to the girl’s eight-year-old brother, the kidnappers had come in a white car and kidnapped the girl.

According to the information, The number of victims, including a woman, is suspected to be 4. Police said that the victim’s brother got injured in his knees while trying to save his sister. The children’s parents are nurses in two different private hospitals.
