Kerala Bus Accident: 9 people killed and 38 injured in a collision between 2 buses in Palakkad district of Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: A painful accident occurred in Kerala this morning due to the collision of two buses. A tourist bus collided with a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus at Vadakkanchery in Kerala's Palakkad district, killing 9 people and injuring 38. Minister of State MB Rajesh gave this information.

Thiruvananthapuram: A painful accident occurred in Kerala this morning due to the collision of two buses. A tourist bus collided with a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus at Vadakkanchery in Kerala’s Palakkad district, killing 9 people and injuring 38. Minister of State MB Rajesh gave this information.

According to information, the bus was carrying students of Baselius School in Mulanthuruthy, Ernakulam but collided with a KSRTC bus at Vadakkanchery in Appalakad district. The mishap occurred when the tourist bus carrying children of a private school was trying to overtake the bus but it slipped and hit the KSRTC bus at the rear. Both buses overturned in the impact and rescuers had to break open both vehicles to rescue those trapped.

“It was a tragic mishap. Bodies of all deceased have been identified. The condition of some of the injured is critical and the government will provide the best medical treatment for them,” said minister MB Rajesh who arrived at the accident site soon after the mishap.

Reacting to the incident, minister MB Rajesh said, “The post-mortem procedures will begin in the morning at 8.30 at Palakad and Alathur. Covid tests will also be done, so it will take some time. Out of the injured, nobody is critical. Five were severely injured. The five are not students. They were passengers of the KSRTC bus.”
