Kerala man brutally thrashes wife after she refused to quit her job, films assault; arrested

Dileep, a local resident of Thiruvananthapuram, allegedly beat up his wife as she was going to work in a supermarket against his wishes.

Thiruvananthapuram: Malayinkizu police in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram district on Wednesday arrested a 27-year-old man for brutally beating his wife and making a film. The police arrested Dileep (27) after the video of Dileep (27) went viral several times on the Internet. Dileep, a local resident of Thiruvananthapuram, allegedly beat up his wife as she was going to work in a supermarket against his wishes.

In the video, Dilip can be seen beating his wife badly. In the video, Dilip’s wife can be heard saying, “I have to go to a job to pay off the debt.” In the video going viral on the internet, the woman’s face was covered in blood. Acting on a tip-off of a complaint lodged by Dileep’s wife, the Malayankizhu police arrested the accused on charges of attempt to murder and several other charges.

Earlier, in June, a woman was thrashed in Madhya Pradesh’s Dewas district and her husband was forced to carry a garland of shoes on his shoulders for her alleged relationship with another man. The incident took place in Borpadav village of Dewas district, learned ANI. A case has been registered against 11 named and other unidentified people.
