New Delhi: An alleged case of gang rape of an American woman has come to light in Kerala. Two youths have been accused of rape. Taking action in the case, the police arrested both the accused. Following this, an FIR has been registered under various sections, including 376D (gangrape) and 376(2)(n) (repeatedly raping same woman), of the IPC.

According to the information, the victim woman had recently come to Kerala from America. For some time she was living in an ashram. Police has given more details in the case. An official of Karunagappally police station said the accused were arrested on Tuesday. They are presently in custody, an officer of Karunagappally police station said.
The police further said that the alleged incident of gangrape with the American woman took place on July 31. He told that on July 31, the woman was sitting alone on a beach near the ashram. During this, two youths came to the woman and coaxed her to an isolated place. The victim alleges that during this time both the youths took turns to rape her.
Police said that both the accused have been arrested and are being interrogated. The details of the incident can be confirmed. The police officer said that the victim had lodged a rape complaint on August 1. The victim reached Kerala on 22 July.
