Key Members from Uttar Pradesh in Modi Cabinet 3.0: Full List

Out of the 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP secured 33 seats, RLD won 2, and Apna Dal (S) secured 1 seat. The Samajwadi Party (SP) claimed 37 seats, and Congress won 6 seats.

On June 9, Narendra Modi was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India for a historic third term at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. In a grand event led by President Droupadi Murmu, 72 NDA leaders took the oath of office. Uttar Pradesh, despite the ruling alliance’s setbacks, has 10 members in the Union Cabinet.

Election Dynamics and PDA Formula
The NDA encountered significant losses in Uttar Pradesh, while the I.N.D.I.A bloc, particularly Akhilesh Yadav’s SP, achieved notable success, attributing their victory to the “PDA” formula—focusing on ‘Pichhra (backward), Dalit, Alpsankhyak (minorities)’ communities.

Caste Balance in NDA’s Cabinet

The NDA has carefully maintained caste representation in the Modi 3.0 government, inducting five backward caste leaders, two Dalits, and three forward caste leaders from Uttar Pradesh into the Council of Ministers. This includes five members of the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community:

Narendra Modi (Teli-Vaishya community)

Jayant Chaudhary (Jat)

Pankaj Chaudhary (Kurmi)

Anupriya Patel (Kurmi)

BL Verma (Lodh)

Kamlesh Paswan (Pasi, Dalit community)

SP Baghel (Dhangar, Dalit community)

Forward Caste Leaders
Three upper caste leaders have also been included

Rajnath Singh (Kshatriya)

Kirtivardhan Singh (Kshatriya)

Jitin Prasada (Brahmin)

Key Allies in the Cabinet

Jayant Chaudhary from RLD has been appointed as Minister of State with independent charge. Anupriya Patel, the chief of Apna Dal (S), who has been with the NDA since 2014, secured the position of Minister of State for the third time.

Excluded Allies and Election Outcomes

Other BJP allies such as Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) and Nirbal Indian Shoshit Hamara Aam Dal (NISHAD) did not secure ministerial positions due to electoral defeats. SBSP chief’s son Arvind Rajbhar lost to SP candidate Rajiv Rai in Ghosi, and former MP Praveen Nishad lost in Sant Kabir Nagar.

Dalit leader Chandrashekhar Azad won the Nagina seat, while the BSP failed to secure any Lok Sabha seats.
