To book an electric car online, you can also visit the official website of Kia India. Kia India will officially launch the EV6 electric crossover in the country on June 2 early next month.
The company will launch only limited units
The EV6 will be the first electric car from Korean carmaker Kia in India. Till now the company had launched SUV and MPV in the Indian market. Kia India will drive in the EV6 via the completely built unit or CBU route in the country. As of now, the carmaker has not shared any plans to locally manufacture or assemble the EV6. This is probably the biggest reason why Kia has decided to limit the number of EV6s that will be sold in the first phase. The carmaker will initially offer only 100 units of the EV6.
EV6 is a luxury electric car
The interiors of the Kia EV6 get premium quality with leather upholstery, seat ventilation, 10-way front powered seats with massage functionality. The EV6 gets a similarly sized digital instrument cluster apart from a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The top-spec AWD variant also gets features like heads up display and 14-speaker sound system.
The Kia EV6 will be launched in two variants GT and GT-Line AWD. The RWD variant can make a maximum output of 229 hp and 350 Nm of torque, while the AWD variant is more powerful with a maximum power of 347 hp and a peak torque of 605 Nm. The EV6 can accelerate from zero to 100 kmph in just 3.5 seconds. Its top speed is 192 kmph.
The Kia EV6 claims to deliver a range of 528 kms on a single charge, which is certified by WLTP. The Kia EV6 will be one of the first electric cars to be launched this year. It will compete with the upcoming Volvo XC40 recharge, Hyundai Ioniq 5. The Kia EV6 is expected to be priced close to ₹60 lakh (ex-showroom).
