Near Chaura village of Kinnaur, suddenly part of the mountain broke down (Kinnaur Landslide) and there was chaos. The accident happened at around 12 noon on Wednesday and more than 6 vehicles including a truck were hit in this accident on National Highway-5, while a bus going from Morang to Haridwar is still said to be missing.
Rescue operation continues to beat death
In Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh, the havoc of nature broke, a part of the mountain on National Highway 5 broke down and fell on the ground and then there was a scream. Soon, more than 6 vehicles including a truck, an Alto car, a Tata Sumo were buried under the debris. With this the race to beat death started. Many people have been pulled out through the rescue operation, but many more people are feared to be buried.
13 killed, 14 rescued
Since the accident, 13 bodies have been recovered so far, while 14 injured have been rescued who are undergoing treatment. More than 20 people are still missing, whose search is on and search operation is going on. The help of the army is also being taken in the rescue operation so that people can be saved as soon as possible.
The fear of the bus falling into the ditch
Himachal Roadways bus going from Morang to Haridwar in Himachal Pradesh is feared to fall into the ditch, which is yet to be found. More than 20 people are expected to be in the bus. It is being told that no trace of the bus has been found so far after the accident, although the bus driver and conductor managed to get out somehow. It is suspected that the bus fell into a gorge with rocks. It is also possible that she may have either fallen into the Sutlej river or she may have been buried under the debris.
Debris has been cleared from the road, but till now there is no trace of the bus. It is being told that the ITBP team made rounds of the river from many sides to find the bus, but there was no success in this too. At the same time, the team of NDRF is also hitting rounds from Sutlej’s side.
PM Modi assured all possible help
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the Kinnaur accident and spoke to Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on the phone and inquired about the situation there. The Prime Minister has assured all possible help from the Center to the state.
