Test of coaches

The coaches of KKR and PBKS need to prepare the players mentally so that they can remain calm in a pressure cooker like situation. Keeping nerves during a crucial moment in a game is a true sign of a player’s talent.

Brendon McCullum of KKR was a shrewd captain in his time. He led the Kiwis for several years. His last few tips before the match would be a perfect balm on the wound. Meanwhile, his counterpart, Anil Kumble, will not like to leave any stone unturned. He is a cool customer, so his strategy will always be crucial for the team at a crucial juncture.

The Punjab Kings is desperate to improve its performance. In the 15th edition of the IPL, the team hopes to qualify at least for the knockout stage. Its overall standing in the IPL is not up to the mark. The franchise played its maiden and only final in IPL 2014 and went down to KKR. Under the watchful eyes of Anil Kumble, the side is adamant about putting in an impressive performance.

KKR and PBKS: Both teams started their fixtures on a winning note. KKR failed to win the second match in a thriller against RCB. But the bowlers did well and, in the end, they were able to stretch the game till the last over.

PBKS will step down on the Wankhede ground today with lots of confidence. The team must be proud of its impressive victory over RCB. The Punjab batters splendidly chased the 205 target set by the RCB.

Rabada set to play in today’s match

Kagiso Rabada has now come out of quarantine and is likely to be part of today’s match. His presence is beneficial and strengthens the bowling unit of the PBKS. In the previous match, the bowlers failed to impress.

Skipper Mayank Agarwal, veteran batsman Shikhar Dhawan, Liam Livingstone, and others are ready for a fabulous show in tonight’s match.

KKR is stuffed with talents who have the ability to change the momentum of the match with their marvellous capacity. If the team bats first, then Captain Shreyas Iyer, Rahane, Venkatesh Iyer, and others have the responsibility to bat sensibly and post a challenging total on the board for the opponents.

The bowling unit of KKR is absolutely perfect. Tim Southee, Umesh Yadav, Varun Chakaravarthy, and others have the ability to check the scoring run rate of the opponents. In the meantime, they send the batters to the pavilion as well. KKR is looking like a well-organised unit, and the team is full of confidence.

The mood is upbeat in both camps. Therefore, today’s match is going to be a thriller. At the outset, it seems KKR is the slight favourite to break the winning streak of PBKS. But the Punjab team seems to be in a different mood, and the morale of the franchise is high after winning the previous match, chasing down more than 200 runs.
