Kolkata: The soaring relationship between the BJP and TMC continues. Both parties never like to leave any stone unturned when playing the blame game against each other. The political tussle between the saffron party and Mamata Banerjee’s West Bengal government has reached its pinnacle.
The Kolkata Police on Thursday filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Union Minister Subhas Sarkar, BJP MP from Ranaghat Jagannath Sarkar, and three other BJP leaders over bribery charges in Kolkata’s Nadia district.
The FIR is based on a complaint filed by Sariful Islam on May 20.
In the FIR, Union Minister of State for Education Subhas Sarkar and three other BJP leaders have been accused of taking bribes. They were alleged to have demanded money for the allocation of jobs at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Kalyani in Nadia.
The FIR has been filed under Section 420 (Cheating), 406 (Criminal Breach of Trust), 120 B (Criminal Conspiracy), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code and under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
