New Delhi: On Wednesday, An Air India Express flight bound for Dubai from Karipur International Airport in Kozhikode, Kerala had to be diverted to Kannur suddenly due to fire alarm burning in the flight.

About an hour after take-off, the pilot saw the fire warning light i.e. fire alarm burning in the flight, after which the India Express Flight IX 345 (Air India Express IX 345) was immediately diverted towards Kannur. However, after investigation it was found that it was a false alarm.

Sources informed that 176 people including the pilot were present in this flight. The flight landed safely in Kannur around 11 am. This flight took off from Karipur airport at 9:53 am.

Airport officials informed that arrangements are being made for an alternate flight from Kannur to Dubai to continue scheduled operations. An airline spokesperson said, “Air India Express regrets the delay and inconvenience caused to the guests and food and refreshments are being provided to the passengers.”
