Kuwait Fire: 5 Indians Among 41 Killed in Massive Blaze in Mangaf, Video

In a tragic incident, at least 41 people lost their lives in a massive fire that broke out in a building in Mangaf, southern Kuwait, as reported by the country’s state media on Wednesday. Among the victims, five were identified as Indian nationals. The building housed a significant Malayali population, with casualties including individuals from Tamil Nadu and North India. Official confirmation from the authorities is still awaited.

According to a statement from the Kuwait Health Ministry, all injured individuals, some in critical condition, have been transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. The ministry emphasized that medical teams are working diligently to provide the necessary care for those affected by the fire.

The fire reportedly started in the kitchen of a labor camp at 4:30 am on Wednesday. Some victims succumbed to their injuries after jumping from the building to escape the flames, while others died from burns and smoke inhalation.

The building, housing approximately 195 laborers from a nearby commercial area, including many Malayalis, is owned by KG Abraham, a Malayali businessman associated with the NBTC group. Although the fire has been brought under control, there are still reports of individuals trapped inside.
