Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha's first week collection was only 37 crore.
Mumbai: Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha has failed to get a positive response from the audience. The film’s collection was low in the opening weekend. Its total collection was only Rs 10 crore on Sunday (August 14), which is beyond the expectation. Aamir’s LSC earned Rs 37 crore in its opening week, which is disappointing. In fact, this is one of the lowest performing movies by actor Aamir Khan.
Laal Singh Chaddha had to face severe criticism from netizens on social media before hitting the silver screens. Aamir asked his fans to watch the movie in theatres. But after its release on August 11, it hasn’t enticed film lovers to take them into theatres.
Laal Singh Chaddha’s opening day collection was merely Rs 12 crore at the box office. It is needless to add that the film became the victim of a boycott trend on social media. But a positive sign emerged on Sunday, when its earnings mounted to Rs 10 crore. Overall, the opening week collection was 37 crore, less than 50, which has been considered a poor performance from all perspectives.
Laal Singh Chaddha is the Hindi adaptation of the Hollywood film Forrest Gump, which featured Tom Hanks and was directed by Advait Chandan.
The film was in controversy as netizens announced a boycott due to statements made by Aamir and Kareena in the past.
