Lakhimpur gory: Main accused Ashish Misra hospitalised after being diagnosed with dengue

Lakhimpur Kheri: The prime accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, Ashish Misra – who had allegedly ploughed his car through a group of protesting farmers, killing eight people – is reportedly suffering from dengue and has been hospitalised.

According to sources, Ashish’s health deteriorated and he had to be admitted to the jail hospital.

Ashish Misra, son of Minister of State for Home Ajay Misra, is currently in police custody. A court had sent Ashish to police custody in connection with the violence that was triggered after he allegedly ran his car over protesting farmers in Tikonia in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri.

For the unversed, at least eight people were killed including four farmers were mowed down by an SUV in Lakhimpur Kheri when a group agitating against the Centre’s three new farm laws was staging a demonstration against the visit of Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on October 3. Two BJP workers, a driver in the employ of Ajay Misra, and a journalist were killed in the violence that followed.

On Saturday, three persons were arrested in connection to the violence taking the total number of arrests to 13, including Union minister Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish.
