Land-for-jobs scam case: Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav likely appear before ED today

New Delhi: ED has summoned Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav in the case of money laundering related to land scam. Tejashwi may appear before the ED in Delhi on Tuesday for questioning.

ED has registered a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) based on the FIR of the CBI. Earlier, his sister and Rajya Sabha member Misa Bharti was questioned by the ED.

ED has claimed to have evidence of money laundering of Rs 600 crore so far in the land-for-job scam. According to the ED, out of the assets generated from the crime, Rs 350 crore is immovable property, while Rs 250 crore came to Lalu Yadav’s family through benami people.

It is alleged that during Lalu Prasad Yadav’s tenure as Railway Minister, land was taken from people in lieu of jobs for the appointments made in several zones of the Railways.

A senior ED official said four plots were sold for Rs 7.5 lakh to former RJD MLA Syed Abu Dojana for Rs 3.5 crore in exchange for Group D jobs. Rabri Devi had transferred most of it to Tejashwi Yadav. There is evidence of this too.
