Basseterre: Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced on Tuesday the revised time of the third T20I between India and the West Indies amidst the late finish of the second T20I, which was delayed due to the late arrival of  players’ luggage.

The second match finished late, in which McCoy’s six-fer helped WI to level the series. He managed to strike out six Indian batters. After that, Brandon King scored a solid 68 runs, which helped the team to notch up the match with five wickets remaining.

The third T20I was to begin at 10:30 AM local time (8 pm IST), but the timing of the match has been pushed back by one-and-a-half hours. It means the match will get underway at 9:30 pm IST.

The Caribbean board made it clear that timing is being revised because players on both sides need adequate rest and recovery time so that they can fully prepare for today’s match. The revised timing has taken place considering the fact that the last two matches of the series will be held back-to-back in Florida, US.

The players of both teams have agreed on the issue of the extension of time due to the delayed start of the second match on Monday.

The announcement by the West Indies board about the back-to-back fixtures in Florida has removed all doubts that the matches could not be held in the US state due to visa issues.

It was a bizarre incident that the second T20I did not get underway on time because of the non-arrival of the players’ luggage. In the beginning, it was delayed for two hours, and then another one-hour delay took place for the same reason. For this reason, timing was pushed back twice in a match. Really amazing!

In the end, the match finally got underway at 11pm IST, which proved lucky for the hosts as they registered a five-wicket victory over India and levelled the five-match series at 1-1.

Pacer Obed McCoy declared player of the match for his superb bowling, taking a six-wicket haul.
