Four months before the Karnataka Assembly elections, former BJP leader and mining baron Gali Janardhana Reddy has announced the formation of his own party, Kalyana Rajya Pragati Paksha (KRPP), to compete with the saffron outfit.
Bengaluru: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Karnataka is in trouble ahead of the crucial assembly elections next year. The crack in the relationship between CM Basavaraj Bommai and former CM BS Yediyurappa has widened, and now fresh trouble has taken place that really displeases the party. The state assembly election in Karnataka is likely to take place in March 2023.
Four months before the Karnataka Assembly elections, former BJP leader and mining baron Gali Janardhana Reddy has announced the formation of his own party, Kalyana Rajya Pragati Paksha (KRPP), to compete with the saffron outfit. As per the report, Reddy is expected to fight from Gangavathi in Koppal district, Karnataka.
Who is Janardhana Reddy?
Gali Janardhana is considered the most vocal among the three Reddy brothers; the other two are G Karunakara and G Somashekara. They struggled a lot in their lives once they were struggling businessmen, but today, as the owners of choppers, they have had a remarkable rise in money as well.
The Reddy brothers played a vital role in the BJP campaign in 2008, under the leadership of Yeddiyurappa, and incidentally, the saffron party grabbed power for the first time in Karnataka.
Despite getting cabinet berths, he went against Yeddyurappa in 2009, as he failed to give him authority to choose the officials of his liking to be posted in Bellary and in their ministries.
They had an argument with the BJP after the illegal iron ore mining scam. Janardhana Reddy was in a position to collapse the government as he became a known political figure in Karnataka’s Bellary and beyond.
The Reddy Brothers have declared their dissatisfaction with the BJP’s leadership in Karnataka and announced their “political rebirth.” Reddy is an admirer to former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Reddy was insulted at the party, which left him with a bad taste and led him to float a new party and get massive support in Bellari.
A CBI raid on his family turned Reddy red, and the raid occurred while the BJP was in power, forcing him to think about something other than the BJP. Therefore, he started thinking about forming a new party and did it.
