Lucknow: The Lucknow Development Authority on Sunday demolished an under-construction apartment following objection of Archaeological Survey of India. The entire project was developed on around 3,600 square feet area and was near protected site of ‘residency’.
The property was being developed by former BSP MP Dawood Ahmad.
However, after ASI moved court against the illegal structure, the court ordered to demolish the structure.
“He was given sufficient time to raze the unapproved structure, but he didn’t, therefore LDA along with ASI team had to do the job,” said a senior official of ASI.
Tightening noose on an unapproved structure development in the city, LDA had, earlier in March, razed the fifth floor of the property located at river bank colony and claimed that it had approved map for (G+4) upto fourth floor structure only.
On Saturday evening, district magistrate Abhishek Prakash, who is vice-chairperson of LDA, had issued fresh instruction to identify illegal residential colonies, upload the list on website and also submit a similar list at registry office to alert homebuyers about the fraud builders.
