A delegation of 21 MPs from constituent parties of the Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance (India) will visit Manipur today to assess the ground situation. Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, a member of the delegation going on a two-day tour, has demanded an inquiry into the Manipur violence by a retired Supreme Court judge. RJD leader Manoj Jha said that establishing peace is the main concern of all. DMK leader TR Balu said that he will go there and find out where the mistake happened. The opposition leader will meet the victims of Manipur violence and will also take stock of the situation in the state.
MPs of opposition parties will visit
Apart from Adhir Ranjan, Congress MPs Gaurav Gogoi and Phoolo Devi Netam, who brought the no-confidence motion, Sushmita Dev of Trinamool Congress, JDU President Rajeev Ranjan Singh Lalan and Anil Hegde, Mahua Manjhi of JMM, Kanimozhi and Ravi Kumar of DMK, Mohammad Faizal of NCP , Jayant Chowdhary of RLD, Manoj Kumar Jha of RJD, NK Premachandran of RSP and T Thirumavalavan of VCK, Sandosh Kumar of CPI, A A Rahim of CPI(M), Javed Ali Khan of SP, Mohammad Basheer of IUML, Sushil Gupta of Aam Aadmi Party Arvind Sawant of the Shiv Sena Uddhav faction will visit Manipur on July 29-30 as a member of the opposition parliamentary delegation.
BJP leaders targeted
BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said that he has no objection to the visit of the opposition leaders to Manipur. But they should not worsen the situation there. BJP MP and actor Ravi Kishan also targeted the leaders of the opposition parties and said that they should also go to Pakistan and China as their demand is high there. Significantly, the video of a woman being paraded naked had gone viral in the past, after which this matter has become more heated.
