Low intensity earthquake felt in Jammu and Kashmir

A low-intensity earthquake measuring 3.4 hit Jammu and Kashmir last evening. Officials gave this information on Tuesday

Jammu and Kashmir : Earthquake tremors have been felt in Jammu and Kashmir. Its intensity was 3.4 on the Richter scale. According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake occurred at a distance of 86 km from East Katra. An earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale hit Jammu and Kashmir at 10.07 pm last night. The epicenter of the earthquake was 89 km east of Katra in Reasi district. The coordinates of the earthquake were 33.03 degrees north latitude and 75.89 degrees east longitude. It happened at a depth of 25 kilometers inside the earth. There is no news of any casualty from anywhere.

Earlier, on the morning of February 17, there were mild tremors in the same area. Earthquake tremors were felt in Doda and Kishtwar about a month ago. On Monday evening, people came out of their homes in many areas due to tremors that came for a few seconds.

Earthquake tremors were felt in the districts of Jammu, Rajori, Poonch, Kathua, Srinagar etc. in the state. Many areas in Jammu and Kashmir are sensitive to earthquakes. Tremors have been felt regularly in these areas. The state has also suffered major tremors of earthquakes several times.
